On Stage
Your life is your dream.
Good morning,
There I was onstage in Madison Square Garden. My Madison Square Garden.
It was 11:07 p.m. on Saturday evening as I woke up to the light but fast footsteps of my daughter running from her room to ours. As I sat up from a light sleep, I felt her arms fling across my chest as she gave a sigh of relief. It was as if I hadn't seen her in a week.
As I walked her to the bathroom, I stopped halfway. The darkness was broken by the slightest light from the bathroom, where my wife was getting ready for bed.
I stood there, watching the soft light reflect off the glass shower, illuminating the Roman clay walls and giving shape to my wife and daughter, with darkness all around. It was as if I were still dreaming.
In that moment I stood there, quietly. I knew I had everything I had once only dreamed of. A feeling came over me, and the words entered my mind.
“You made it. Your life is your dream.”
As I stood there, it was clear I wasn't dreaming of a different life. I was standing in the one I had dreamed of.
How much of the life you once dreamed of are you already living? Have you stopped to enjoy it?
